Detroit Lions Get "Top" Lineman and "Best" Running Back in the 2010 NFL Pro Football Draft in Ndamukong Suh and Jahvid Best

The Detroit Lions NFL pro draft of Ndamukong Suh and Jahvid Best is probably the greatest thing that has happened to the State of Michigan and the football and automobile industry since the introduction of the Model T Ford as the Lions begin selling jerseys for new draft picks. The Lions managed to garner both the "top" lineman and "best" running back in the 2010 NFL draft.
For a detailed report, see Michael Silver of Yahoo Sports at Lions, Schwartz aggressively fill needs.

In the past season, the Lions en route to a 2-14 record gave up more points in 16 games than any other team in the NFL, 494 points, that's an average of over 30 points per game. Still, the Lions improved from 0-16 the previous season, as new head coach Jim Schwartz came to Detroit after a successful stint at the Tennessee Titans as defensive coordinator, where "the Titans ranked in the top seven in yards allowed [his] last two seasons and finished second in points allowed per game at 14.6 in 2008." On offense, the Lions' best rusher rushed for only 747 yards and a 3.4 yard average per carry which should be compared with the league leader, who rushed for 2006 yards on an average carry of 5.6 yards.

Prior to Suh, the Lions in the off-season already made significant changes to the defensive line, starting with new defensive coach Kris Kocurek (see details here), bringing back defensive end Jared DeVries and adding new players in tackle Corey Williams and Pro Bowl end Kyle Vanden Bosch, who played college football at the Nebraska Cornhuskers. With Suh in the defensive line together with those players under the intense tutelage of Kocurek, with Best running the ball together in a backfield with developing new QB Matt Stafford, things should change radically for the positive in Detroit in the coming season, not to mention the motivational uplift that Suh and Best are bound to provide to the team.

Can you imagine the next SUV out of Michigan to be called the SUH? We can.
And how about a swift BEST deal for a new speedy JAHVID out of Detroit? Sounds good.

Ndamukong Suh is Picked 2nd by the Lions in NFL pro football draft as Bradford is 1st, McCoy 3rd and Williams 4th as Big 12 Takes Top Four Spots

The Big 12 Conference took the top 4 spots in the NFL pro football draft in 2010 as Huskers.com writes in Lions Make Suh Second Choice in First Round of NFL Draft :
"Suh's selection was part of a banner evening for the Big 12 Conference at the Draft. Before Suh was selected by the Lions, St. Louis made Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford the top overall selection. OU's Gerald McCoy was picked third by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oklahoma offensive tackle Trent Williams was the fourth overall pick by the Washington Redskins."

Taylor Martinez Impressing the Huskers at Quarterback

Fleet-Footed Athlete Impressing In Time At Quarterback
by BRIAN ROSENTHAL / Lincoln Journal Star
"Husker coaches excited about Martinez's potential

Taylor Martinez came to Nebraska because coaches promised the all-around athlete from California an opportunity to play quarterback."
Is Martinez going to be the surprise quarterback of tomorrow in a Huskerwildcat offense?
It might be.
Martinez has the speed and was not the QB of his California high school team champion for nothing.
Players like that often have extras that you can not put into statistics, but they win. That is the key.
